Show DARRELL SCHRAMM, NEAL SMITH WIN SOAPBOX TRIALS Darrell Schram, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schramm, piloted his "soap box auto" to first place, Wednesday of last week, in the first heat of the American Legion's "kid-kar" contest, and won a pair of gym shoes, purchased pur-chased at Pool's Store, and a shot at the beautiful gold trophy which will be awarded the winner win-ner of the fifth week's races. Jay Bradshaw was second in the first week's event. On Wednesday of this week, when the second heat was run off, Neal Smith won the event and Jay Bradshaw again finished second. In the special race between be-tween Schramm and Smith, the .' " Schramm auto won by a few inches. On Wednesday, July 7th, and Wednesday, July 14th, the two remaining heats will be staged. Baces begin at 6:20 p. m., with' the youngsters zig-zagging their bugs down the hill and finishing at Main street, on the Milford Hotel corner. Wednesday, July 21st, a special spe-cial race for the trophy will be run, with the first place winners of each heat competing for the prize. After inspection and approval ap-proval by the Legion Race committee, com-mittee, Hub Hickman, Lynn Gillespie Gil-lespie and Steve Williams, the i trophy was returned to Salt Lake to be suitably engraved. . It will be on display for the next three weeks in the Milford Jewelry Co. show window. |
