Show Lions Clubs set Logan confab The Logan Liens Club will serve as hosts for the 1968 Utah State Lions Convention which will be held June 13, 14, and 15. More than 1200 Utah Lions and wives are expected to be in Logan for this annual event which this year will be staged on the Utah State University campus. Logan Lions Club President Larry Anderson reports that Nolan "Red" Burnett, a physical physi-cal educaction professor at Utah State, is serving as chairman chair-man of the club's state convention con-vention committee. "We feel that excellent preparation prep-aration already has been completed com-pleted and that only the finishing fin-ishing touches remain for this to be the most interesting Lions Convention ever staged in the state," said Anderson. Members of the convention committee include Jock Nixon and Ken Sorenson, housing; Bob Williams and Marcus Sorenson, Sor-enson, registration; Gary Jones, finance; Carl Johnson, entertainment enter-tainment and campus coordination; coordina-tion; Mrs. Ora Gates and Mrs. Alice Nelson, ladies' activities; and Tom Taylor and Harvey Kirkpatrick; advertising and publicity. One of the highlights of this year's convention will be the appearance of the USU Balla-diers, Balla-diers, a group of 13 talented entertainers who will be performing per-forming stateside for the final time prior to embarking on an eight-week USO tour of the Far East. They will entertain at the Friday night variety show in new USU Fine Arts Center Concert Hall. |
