Show Funds set aside for health study Effective March 1, funds have become available to coordinate coor-dinate and increase the smoking smok-ing and health programs of various agencies in Utah. A grant totaling $18,743 for 1968 has been awarded for this purpose pur-pose to the Utah State Di- i vision of Health by the U.S. Public Health Service. j The grant will provide funds for a coordinator and staff for the Utah Interagency Council on Smoking and Health. The Interagency Council will deal with smoking as a threat to health, particularly in the areas of respiratory, heart, circulatory diseases and cancer. One of the main emphasis of the Interagency Council will be to discourage smoking by the school age youth. |
