Show Wool contest winners to enter state Interpreting fashion to suit individual personality; learning to combine color, form, pattern, and texture for that final effect ef-fect that is just right won for two talented young seamstresses seamstress-es the top spots in the 21st annual "Make It Yourself With Wool" fashion review sponsored sponsor-ed by the Woolgrowers Auxiliary Auxili-ary of District 11. Nadine Elaine Maxfield, BYU student, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vard Maxfield, Salt Lake City, was the winner in the senior division divis-ion and Susan Nelson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr .and Mrs. W. A. Nelson Nel-son of Spanish Fork, was winner win-ner in the junior division. They will represent the district at the annual state competition, January 11, in Salt Lake in conjunction with the Utah Woolgrowers Convention. Mrs. J. R. Sayer of Maple- ton, president of the Central Utah Woolgrowers Auxiliary, sponsors of the contest, welcomed wel-comed the guests and introduced introdu-ced Mrs. Newell A. Johnson, state president of the Wool-growers Wool-growers Auxiliary, who gave an informative talk on wool. Springville represented Nine girls in the Junior Division, Di-vision, ages 14 through 16, and 17 girls in the Senior Division, ages 17-21, modeled garments they had fashioned. Shown were dresses, suits, coats and ensembles. The girls represented represent-ed Provo, Springville, Orem, Payson, Spanish Fork and San-taquin. San-taquin. Mrs. Raliegh F. Williams was director and she was assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Lee Jarvis and Mrs. Sterling Ercanbrack. Mrs. Barnett Dewey was commentator. commenta-tor. Appropriate music was furnished by Mrs. Jack V. Dixon. Dix-on. Mrs. James W. Webster gave modeling instructions to the girls. Judging was done by Mrs. Robert Hansen of Provo; Mrs. Roland Hanson of Spanish Fork, and Mr. Jon Clark of Provo. r i |
