Bird Calvin Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Bird has been called to serve in the Eastern f"a"tlclf Stas, representing the Twelfth Ward. His farewell will be Sunday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. at the church. He enters the mission home October 10 Speakers at the farewell will be Rett Shakespear, DelMoine Chnstensen, former bishop of the Twelfth Ward and Bishop Don Watts. Remarks will be made by parents of the missionary mis-sionary and a response by the missionary. The invocation will be by Alan Bird and the benediction by Leland Bird. Charles Cummins will give prelude and postlude music. Other music will include an organ solo by Mrs. Maurice Bird and a vocal duet by Bill and Bob Davis, accompanied by Joan Johnson. Others srving missions from the Twelfth Ward, are Nielson Strong, British; Ray Thorn. Andes; Mark Shepherd, British; Brit-ish; Lee Russell, Gulf States; Douglas Erickson, Southwest Indian; President and Mrs. Hal Taylor, Southwest Indian Mission. Mis-sion. Americans used to shout, "Give me liberty!" Now they just leave off the last word. |
