Show School board meets in special session At a specially called public meeting of Nebo District School Board, Monday of last week, at the new high school in Payson, several problems relative rel-ative to the schools were discussed. dis-cussed. Stansfield invited Dell Ashworth, architect, archi-tect, to submit his recommendation recommen-dation with respect to changing chang-ing the insulation specified in the two new high schools to Dow Chemical's Styrofoam insulation. in-sulation. Mr. Ashworth pointed out the advantages of the newly new-ly proposed insulation stating that it was more resistant to water and fire. A motion was made by Leo A. Crandall, seconded sec-onded by Mark B. Anderson, that the board approve the change as recommended by the architect which will result in a credit of $1900 on the contract con-tract with Horne-Zwick Construction Con-struction Company and a credit of $2000 on the contract of Cannon-Papanikolas Construction Construc-tion Company. Motion carried on a unanimous vote. Supt. Stansfield reported that he, Bert Bowen and board member Leo Crandall had met with members of the Utah County Commission with respect re-spect to the projected county roads adjacent to the Spring-ville Spring-ville High School site, and that the county commissioners present pres-ent stated that' work could begin be-gin immediately on the roads as proposed by the board and Springville City. After bids to furnish apples for the school lunch program during the 1966-67 school year, a motion was made by Leo A. Crandall, seconded by Mark B. Anderson, that the board accept ac-cept the low bid for delicious apples at $2.15 per bushel as submitted by Earl Perry at Mapleton and that the Supt. be authorized to negotiate for the Jonathan and Roman Beauty apples. |
