SCHOUTEN, the former Miss Cynthia (Cindy) Hardy, makes new home here for the present. i n Cynthia Hardy becomes bride of William Schouten July 14 Best man to the groom was Jim Fillis. Mrs. Hardy wore a biege knit suit trimmed with light blue satin for the reception and Mrs. Schouten chose a biege jersey and lace. Their corsages were of carnations and gladioli. Jo Ann Fillis was at the guest register and greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Miller, uncle and aunt of the bride. Serving were Katherine Robertson, Rob-ertson, Tamara Swenson and Rosemary Clark with Phyllis Whiting in charge. Craig Hardy, Glenn Bird and Jane Bird received the gifts and assisted with the arrangement. ar-rangement. A beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake with pillars separating the layers, was trimmed in pink and white with accents of cranberry and topped with tiny wedding bells, to carry out the decorative theme of the reception. Announcement is made this week of the marriage of Miss Cynthia L. Hardy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Blaine Hardy of Springville and William D. Schouten, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schouten also of this city. The ceremony was performed in the Third Ward Chapel, July 14, by Bishop Joseph L. Bos-well. Bos-well. A garden reception honored hon-ored the young couple in the evening, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Bird. The couple honeymooned in Yellowstone Park and Jackson, Wyoming, and the groom has now returned to his military assignment in Alaska, while his bride plans to continue her education at BYU this fall. For the all important date, the bride was attractivly gowned in a floor-length creation crea-tion of nylon organdy detailed with pearl beads on the over-lace over-lace bodice with matching ini-set ini-set at the waist and sheer nylon ny-lon pointace sleeves. Her shoulder-length veil of illusion fell from a double crown of lace embedded with pearls and she carried a bridal bouquet of white gladioli and pink carnations. LuAnn Gustavson was maid of honor, while Mary Schouten, sister of the groom and Susan Hardy, sister of the bride, were bride's maids. They were attired in pink linen with bell-shaped bell-shaped sleeves and carried three pink carnations tied with cranberry color accent bows. |
