Show I Panguitch Lake to be treated point out that fishing at Panguitch Pan-guitch Lake at the present time is still good. Panguitch Lake in southern Utah will be chemically treated to remove trash fish in the fall of 1968 according to word received re-ceived from a recent meeting of the Utah Fish and Game Commission. The Lake, located 20 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah, now houses enormous chub populations. The decision to treat Panguitch Lake is based on the fact that larger trout must be stocked each year to compete with the trash fish population. With trash fish gone, smaller fish may be planted and still be catchable size the next year due to the excellent fish growth potential of the Lake. Panguitch Lake was last treated for trash fish in 1955. Department of Fish and Game officials say the Lake will be stocked with five and six inch fish this month and once again in 1967. These fish will be caught by anglers by treatment time in 1968, greatly great-ly minimizing the number of game fish left in the Lake. Panguitch Lake will be restocked re-stocked in 1969, but fishing will not open until 1970. Fish and game officials |
