Show Rotary Club fo observe national week The Springville Rotary Club will join more than 12,000 other oth-er clubs in 128 countries and geographical regions in participating partic-ipating in world-wide observance observ-ance on "The Rotary Foundation Founda-tion Week," Nov. 14-20, according accord-ing to club president Bill Duncan. Dun-can. "The idea of this special week is to focus attention on the objective of the Foundation: Founda-tion: to promote understanding and friendly relations between peoples of different nations through tangible and effective projects," he said. "This year the Foundation has provided nearly $1 million dollars for support of its programs, including in-cluding the recent expansion of activities. "These new activities, to be carried on in addition to the already well-established Rotary Foundation Fellowships program, pro-gram, include grants for study teams of young business and professional men to be exchanged ex-changed between Rotary districts dis-tricts in different countries, awards to young men to enable en-able them to take technical training in other countries, and consideration of financial support sup-port for new experimental projects to further international internation-al understanding." First awards have already been made for 34 Rotary districts dis-tricts to exchange study teams over a two-year period. Since 1947, the program's inaugural year, nearly 2,000 awards have been made to young people from 70 countries who have studied in 58 countries. Fellowship Fellow-ship awards have amounted to over $4.5 million during this time. Springville Rotarians will celebrate the "Week" at their meeting Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Ski Club with a guest speaker from a Rotary Club. J. D. Ford, Supt. of the State Fish and Game Farm, presented present-ed an interesting talk at the club meeting Wednesday evening. eve-ning.
