Show Evening of music enjoyed by club A delightful evening program pro-gram featuring as the theme, Music Gems, was presented for members of the Ladies Literary Club Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Julia Sumsion. President Birdella Bearnson conducted short business and introduced those on the program. pro-gram. Minnie Broesbeck led the collect and members joined in the salute to the flag. Mrs. Sumsion introduced the theme of the evening by relating relat-ing the life of the family from their early home life in Europe Eur-ope to that of fame and stardom star-dom in the United States from the Trapp Family Singers book. Sound of Music is based on the life of the family in Austria and after the review, a group of students from the Westside School, Carla Bunce, Martina Cope, Laura Phillips and Jeri Huff sang numbers from the Sound of Music, accompanied by their teacher, Colleen Ludlow. Also Melba Wheeler and Vera Zobell entertained with several selections from the Sound of Music compositions by Sigmond Romberg, accompanied by Mrs. Sumsion. To climax the program, Mrs. Sumsion played numbers on the organ. Preceding the program, a nicely arranged tray luncheon was served by the hostess. Next meeting is to be Thursday, Thurs-day, Nov. 18, at the home of Manila Brown with Rea Straw to give the program.
