Show ireuitiei Sir. and Mrs. Maurice Met-calf Met-calf have returned home from the west coast, where they went to attend funeral services of Mr. Metcalf's sister, Mrs. Pearl Hofheins at Whittier. They also visited at El Centro with a daughter and son-in-law Hal and Merry Metcalf Rich and their three children, the youngest of whom just recently recent-ly returned home from the hospital hos-pital after a serious operation. Enroute home, the Metcalfs also spent two days in Las Vegas with another daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kay (Kathlyn) Mendenhall and family. Mrs. Viva Kerby and daughter daugh-ter Pam have returned from an enjoyable vacation trip to California. Cali-fornia. They were gone two weeks making the trip by plane. They went first to San Francisco and then to Eureka, Calif., where they stayed with two sisters of Mrs. Kerby, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Wing and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sweaney and families. They enjoyed water-skiing water-skiing and the many sights in the area, also deep-sea fishing. They returned to San Francisco and visited many places in that area including the Oakland Oak-land Temple. Enroute home, they stopped at Sacramento and also at Reno, Nevada. Russell A. Thorpe has re- tured to his home in Long Beach, Calf., after a visit with relatives and friends in Spring- I relatives and friends in Springville. Spring-ville. He was the house guest of his brother Shirley arid also visited Mrs. Thorpe's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Alleman and with Mr. Thorpe's other brother, Morris Thorpe and wife ad family. He returned re-turned home on Thursday of last week. Mary R. Schwartz has returned re-turned home from a week spent in Denver, Colo., the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Schwartz. She made the trip by plane and was accompanied by a nephew, Mike Roylance, son of Mr. and Mrs. Finley Roylance. Mrs. Fron Thorn is vacationing vaca-tioning in Yonkers, N.Y., the guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Thorn and family. She went especially es-pecially to attend the wedding of her granddaughter Joann, to be August 29, and plans to return the latter part of the month. She is making the trip by plane. |
