Mex.) '"' view. $ ' Utah receives $925,697 from L&W fad Utah has been apportioned a total $925,697 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, according to Sen. Wallace F. Bennett, R-Utah. The U.S. total to-tal allotted to the various states was $76 million The amounts must be matched match-ed by States and the funds will be used to finance planning, acquiring ac-quiring and developing outdoor recreation areas and facilities. The apportionmets announced announ-ced today are from the first full year's revenues into the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The fund derives revenues from the sale of the new $7 Federal Recreation Conservation Conserva-tion sticker and other Federal outdoor recreation fees, the Federal Motorboat fuels tax, and proceeds from the sale of Federal surplus real property. "What this country needs before it drops more billions of tax dollars into welfare and antipoverty programs is for someone to come up with a few clear, concise answers and or ilustrations on just what, if anything, these astronomical astronomi-cal billions are buying and or accomplishing. F e d e r a 1-state welfare programs alone currently cur-rently are costing us in the neighborhood of five billions a year. Something like 41 separate sep-arate ant ipoverty programs which will cost the taxpayers 15 billions in 1964 are in the hands of six separte Federal agencies." |
