Mabel Paulson entered the Utah Valley Hospital this week to receive surgery on her arm. Mrs. Paulson was severely burned on this arm as a small child, and her doctor feels that she is in need of some skin grafting. Mr .and Mrs. Bill Cox spent Sunday in Delta visiting with their son, George, and his family- A large crowd of out-of-town visitors were in Mapleton Sunday to attend the farewell testimonial for Eldon Hjorth, son of Mr .and Mrs. Hugh Hjorth. Eldon entered the mission mis-sion home Monday and will seen be leaving for the mission field in Finland. Many friends and relatives traveled long distances dis-tances to be present for the services and met at the Hjorth home afterward for visiting. Eldon was warned to be prepared pre-pared for very cold weather in Finland. One speaker who is a former missionary from that country said that the temperature tempera-ture aften reaches 40 degrees below zero in the winter and stays there for weeks at s time. The Finish Mission was opened about 20 years ago anc is making rapid progress. The Hjorths have anothei son in the mission field. Terrj is serving in the eastern states and their oldest son, Calvin served a mission in Mexico. Time was when there were more members of the GAB than of the American Legion. |
