Show Big boys signed for Y football Letters of intent signed by three high school tackles were received at BYU according to word from Cougar football coach Tomm Hudspeth. These signings were by promising young linemen from Arizona, California and Colorado. Colo-rado. The trio consists of Mike Loper, Phoenix, Ariz.; Richie Lopez, Glendora, Calif.; and Bob Brannon, Denver, Colo. Loper, a 6-3, 215-pound, all-city all-city tackle from Arcadia High school in Phoenix, is from Scottsdale. He won honorable mention in football and has been chosen to play in the high school all-star game in Flagstaff. Flag-staff. Lopez, a 6-2, 210-pound tackle, won all-league, all-valley honors at Glendora. Brannon, a 6-4, 215-pounder from East High School in Denver, Den-ver, won all-city honors in football and track. He, too, will play in an all-star game this summer. Brannon will be a pre-dental major at BYU. Also signed during the week was Don Brown, 6-3, 215-pound 215-pound end and co-captain of Antioch High School, Antioch, California. |
