Show Martin Merritt dies; rites pending ; ' I " 1 V ; vim - Funeral services are tentatively tenta-tively set for Saturday in the Second-Eighth Ward Church for Martin Emor Merritt, 68, who died early Wednesday, April 28, 1965 of a heart attack. at-tack. Known to his many friends and relatives as "Mart," he was born to Martin and Celia Hadden Merritt, Nov. 15, 1896, at Joseph, Utah. He was marred to Charlotte Webb, Sept. 18, 1917, at Pan-quitch, Pan-quitch, Utah. He has been a resident of SpringviUe since 1923. He was a retired railroad worker, having retired in 1963. He worked at the D&RGW Railroad in Thistle. A World War I veteran, he belonged to and was president of the Old Timer's Railroad Club, was commander of Tim-panogos Tim-panogos Barracks, World War I organization. He was a member mem-ber of the LDS Church. Surviving besides his wife of SpringviUe are three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Clea) Curtis of SpringviUe; Mrs. Melba Howard, How-ard, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Maxine Rasmussen, Oxnard, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a twin sister, Mrs. Martha Briggs, Pet-aluma, Pet-aluma, Calif.; Mrs. Lizzie Mart Merritt died early Wed. of heart attack. Services are tentatively set for Saturday. Young, and Mrs. Lew (Lillie) Reynolds, Spanish Fork; Mrs. J. A. (Laura) Williams, Portland, Port-land, Oregon; Mrs. Margaret Donahue, Vallejo, Calif.; and a brother, Roy Merritt, Sacramento, Sacra-mento, Calif. Final funeral arrangements will be announced by Wheeler Mortuary. |
