Show Youth leaves for therapy Courage and determination are said to go a long way in restoring health and young Wendell N. Johnson, 17 year old son of Frank and Orpha Dee Johnson of Mapleton, had plenty of both when he left by plane Wednesday, for the Medical Med-ical School at Stanford Uni-(Continued Uni-(Continued on Page 12, Col. 6) Youth leaves for therapy on coast (Continued from Page One.) versity, for additional therapy. Wendell was injured last August Au-gust in a swimming accident in the Strawberry Canal at Mapleton and hasn't been able to go to school or do many other things he would like to do, since. In fact, he spent from August until late in December De-cember at Holy Cross Hospital, Salt Lake City, and then he came home for .Christmas and has been here since. His parents learned that the Stanford Medical Center had the very newest in therapy equipment so the Utah Air National Na-tional Guard volunteered to take Wendell to the coast. He was taken by plane to San Francisco and from there by car to Stanford. Wendell will undoubtly be plenty lonesome in his new surroundings, sur-roundings, although he is a youth who will make friends. But for those who would like to send him a card or a message mes-sage or can visit him, his new address is: 300 Pasteur Dr., Stanford University Medical Center, Palo Alto, Calif. |
