The campaign to raise over- $2 million through student fees and private contributions is being headed by a 315-member committee co-chaired by Dixie Leavitt, former Utah state senator and southern Utah insurance executive, and Royden C. Braithwaite, president emeritus of Southern Utah State College. The 315-member committee is organized into 26 fund raising subcommittees with administrative assistants assisting each subcommittee. "We think the campaign cam-paign is off to a tremendous start," Leavitt said. "We are finding that almost everyone supports the concept of a Special Events Center which will broaden the cultural, entertaiment and athletic offerings of the whole southern Utah-eastern Nevada-northern Arizona area."
