Show r7t U rs- Larry Wright Kimball Humphrey Gene Mortensen Kathv Mclntyre Street scene CEDAR CITY - This week we sent our man on the street to ask the citizens of Iron County how they felt about the upcoming primary elections. Since there haven't been many issues raised by the candidates running run-ning for offfice we felt that the people could best decide just what the issues should be. We asked the following question: With the primary elections approaching, ap-proaching, what do you think the issues should be as the voters go to the poles? Here are a few of the answers w we received: Larry Wright: I think the economy is number one. The reason I say that is because I think there is more harm done by people not being able to work than anything I can imagine. I think people need to be able to work. This is really important. Kimball Humphrey: I think the issue is going to be experience in office, experience to represent the county well. Gene Mortensen: I feel one of the big issues needs to be the budget. I don't think that the candidates have touched on that enough. Right now with the current economic situation in Iron County it is my personal opinion that the budget should be one of the prime goals. Kathy Mclntyre: The issue in any election should be that those citizens in the community should be interested enough before the election to encourage certain people to run for office and support and work for them. They need to work for the side that best represents them and then get out and vote, especially in the primary. |
