Show Square dancing workshop set CEDAR CITY Square Through Family, Across Trail Through, and Do Paso will soon be familiar terms to those enrolled in a spring quarter square dancing workshop at Southern Utah State College. The Basics of Square Dancing, a non-credit offering of SUSC's Division of Continuing Education, begins March 24 at 7 p.m. in the SUSC Student Center, Small Ballroom. Dee Carter, a four-year member of the Hey Cedars Square Dance Club, is the instructor. She and her husband, Murlan, are past co-presidents co-presidents of the local square dancing club, and she is a trained caller, having attended a special callers school in Page, Ariz. Dancers will meot each Wednesday through May 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. A $15 fee will be charged which can be paid at the first meeting or at the SUSC Registrar's Office, Administration Ad-ministration Building. Anyone over 14 years of age is welcome to enroll, Carter said. "We'll start from the very beginning, learning basic square dance calls and positions. |
