Show Bridge workshop set to be taught CEDAR CITY - Once you learn the basic point count and a few rules, playing bridge is a fun and fascinating game, according to instructors of Bridge for Beginners, a spring quarter workshop at Southern Utah State College. Between the two of them, Berniece Rember and Afton Stapley have over 30 years experience playing bridge. They'll put this experience to test at the workshop that begins March 25 at 7 p.m. in SUSC's Old Administration Ad-ministration Building, room 303. "During the six weeks class is held," Rember said, "students will learn the basics of bridge, including bridge etiquette, card evaluation, bidding, responding and scoring. There'll be no tests, we'll be playing strictly for fun." A $15 non-credit fee will be charged which can be paid at the first meeting or in the SUSC Registrar's Office, Administration Ad-ministration Building 207. Open to men and women of all ages, it isn't necessary to sign up for the workshop with a partner. Rember can be contacted con-tacted for more information in-formation at 586-9456; Stapley, at 586-6666. The first few minutes of every two-hour meeting will be reserved for instruction, in-struction, with the remainder of class spent in actual play. A number of charts, handouts and work sheets will be made available |
