Drew Hansen and Penny Mills Scott-Gibson Bess-Hoyt Mills-Hansen Hansen-Melchior CEDAR CITY - Willard E. and Donna Scott of Salt Lake City, recently announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Joy Lynn, to Earl Rodney Gibson, son of Lyle E. and Hermoine Gibson of Las Vegas, Nev. The couple is planning a March 13 wedding in the St. George LDS Temple. A reception will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Enoch LDS ward building. The bride-to-be is a 1978 graduate of Cedar High School and will graduate this spring from Southern Utah State College with a degree in family life and physical education. She is a member and officer of Lambda Dalta Sigma and a member of Sigma Dalta Omicron, and she sings in the New Era Choir. She is currently working at SUSC in the Counseling and Placement Center. Gibson is a 1972 graduate of Cedar High School and served a mission for the LDS Church in the Anchorage, Alaska Mission. He currently serves as elders quorum president and young adult president in the Cedar North Stake, SUSC Third Ward. He is the manager of the Endrody Ranch north of Cedar City. CEDAR CITY - Eugene Mills and the late Lucy Mills recently announced the engagement and forthcoming for-thcoming marriage of their daughter, Penny, to Drew Hansen, son of Robert C. and Ann B. Hansen. The couple is planning a March 12 wedding in the St. George LDS Temple. A reception will be in their honor March 19 at the Elsinore LDS chapel in Elsinore. An open house will be in the Cedar City Seventh Ward Chapel March 20 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The bride-to-be graduated from South Sevier High School and has attended Southern Utah State College" where she will graduate this spring with a degree in business. She was a recipient of a four-year scholarship. scholar-ship. She has been a member of the Lambda Delta Sigma Sorority, where she has served as IC president. Hansen graduated from Cedar High School in 1978. He served an LDS mission in the New Zealand, Auckland Mission. He is pursuing a degree in business administration at SUSC and is employed at Skaggs Alpha Beta. The couple will live in Cedar City. CEDAR CITY Charles Keith and Margie Bess of Cedar City recently accounced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Cindy, to Randy Hoyt, the son of Kent and Martha Hoyt of Cedar City. They will be married March 13 in the St. George LDS Temple. A wedding celebration will be that evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Cedar High School Lunchroom. The bride-to-be grew up in Cedar City, graduated from Cedar High where she was active in a cappella, Mohey Tawa and pep club and was a cheerleader. She graduated from LDS Business College and until recently has been working as a legal secretary in Salt Lake City. She is currently attending Southern Utah State College and working. The groom grew up in Cedar City, graduated from Cedar High where he was active in athletics. He played football for' Southern Utah State College, attended at-tended the University of Utah and is currently attending at-tending Southern Utah State College and working as head of security at Wahweap Marina. The pair will be making their home in Cedar City. CEDAR CITY Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Hansen recently announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Cheryl, to Kim E. Melchior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Preben Melchior of Grevings, Denmark. The couple is planning a March 20 wedding in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. A reception will be in their honor at the home of the bride's parents in Cedar City March 26 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The bride-to-be was born in Stockton, Calif., graduated from Rochester High School in Rochester, 411., and then moved with her parents and family to Cedar City. She studied music for two years at Brigham Young University and then returned to Cedar City, where she received her degree in music education at Southern Utah State College. She then taught chorus and orchestra in the St. George Elementary schools. She also served an 18-month mission for the LDS church in the Seville, Spain Mission, after which she returned to SUSC and received her degree in Spanish. She is presently working at the General Church Offices, Of-fices, where she is employed by the Genealogy Department. Melchior received his schooling in Denmark and served in the Danish Army and as a member of the Danish Royal Guard and later enlisted in the Danish Merchant Marine. He then served a mission for the LDS church in the Leeds, England Mission. Following his mission, he came to Salt Lake City to do Danish genealogical research. He plans to continue his education in computer technology, while functioning as a a Danish genealogical researcher. The pair will make their home in Salt Lake City. - ' i r a mm .... , i lit - -iti t , v"- cv, ' ' it SF K':iJ i ... -v I jJ i Jeffrey Van Bushnell and Sherry Roper Ray Arden Munson and Terrie Lynn Walden Laird Campbell and Tanya Shaw Roper-Bushnell CEDAR CITY Gary and Shirley Roper of Cedar City recently announced the engagement and forthcoming for-thcoming marriage of their daughter, Sherry, to Jeffrey Van Bushnell, son of Van and Allison Bushnell, also of Cedar City. The couple will be married Saturday in the St. George LDS Temple and will be honored at a reception that evening from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Cedar West LDS Stake Center. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cedar High School, where she was active in music including a cappella choir, Crimson Soul and orchestra. She has completed work for a degree in elementary education and will graduate from Southern Utah State College in June. The groom graduated from Mesa High School in Mesa, Ariz. He attended SUSC and fulfilled an LDS Mission to Denver, Colo. At the present time he is a manager at Skaggs in Las Vegas, Nev. Following the wedding they will make their home in Las Vegas. Campbell-Shaw CEDAR CITY Laird D. Campbell of Cedar City will exchange wedding vows with Tanya D. Shaw of Spanish Fork Friday in the Provo LDS Temple. That evening, they will be honored at a reception from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Spanish Fork First, Twelfth, and Fifteenth ward house. On Saturday there will be an open house from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Cedar Ninth Ward. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jerry and Thora Shaw of Spanish Fork. She was active in a capella and madrigals, drama and debate, and graduated with honors from Spanish Fork High School in 1980. - Laird is the son of Hal K. and Joan Campbell of Cedar City. He graduated from Cedar High in 1977 and has served a mission to South Africa. The newlyweds plan to live in Cedar City and continue con-tinue their education at Southern Utah State College. Walden-Munson Mr. and Mrs. John H. Walden of Indianapolis, Indiana, In-diana, recently announced the engagement and forthcoming for-thcoming marriage of their daughter, Terrie Lynn, to Ray Arden Munson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Munson of Cedar City. The couple will be married March 12 in the St. George LDS Temple. A reception will be held in their honor on March 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cedar LDS Stake Center. All friends are invited to attend. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Whiteland Community Com-munity High School in Indiana. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She was president of Deca and was a member of the Warriorettes. Munson graduated from Cedar High School in 1978 where he was active in music. He was president of Key Club and was on the yearbook staff. During the summer of 1978, he toured Europe with the United States Collegiate Wind Band. Both are students at Southern Utah State College. She has served on the executive council and was president of the Student Activity Board. They will make their home in Cedar City and will continue their education at SUSC. |
