Show Make great meatballs SWEDISH HAM BALLS 1 1 j lb. ground ham 2' 2 lb. ground pork 3 c. bread crumbs 3 eggs 1 1 a c. milk Mix together and make 30 balls (size of golf balls or 2x1 1 2 inches) Sauce: 2 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. dry mustard 1 c. vinegar 1 c. water Make into sauce and pour over balls. Bake one hour at 325 degrees. After 30 minutes, turn balls over and bake 30 minutes or more. v. By JANET H. WEAVER Record Correspondent For a change of pace and something a little exotic in your menu planning you might want to try one of these recipes. ORIENTAL MEAT BALLS 2 slices white bread soaked in water and squeezed dry 2 lb. ground beef 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. ginger 1 cup water chestnuts, drained and diced 2 tsp. soy sauce 1 egg, beaten Mix all ingredients. Shape into balls and brown in skillet. Sauce: 1 c. water 2 c. vinegar 2 Tbsp. catsup 2 Tbsp. soy sauce 2 Tbsp. molasses 2 c. brown sugar 1 c. beef boullion 4 Tbsp. cornstarch 2 c. cold water Mix first seven ingredients together. Bring to a boil and thicken with cornstarch dissolved incold water. Boil, stirring, about two minutes or until thickened and translucent. Let meat balls set in sauce until ready to serve, then add the following ingredients and heat through: 2 cans pineapple chunks 1 green pepper strip Two-thirds cup watermelon pickles 1 c. onion strips 1 c. tomato chunks 1 c. preserved kumquats 12 maraschino cherries |
