Reportedly, two citizens attempted to follow the speeding truck but were stopped when the hoys threw a tire iron into the windshield of one vehicle and the stolen bicycles under the second truck. In the first series of auto thefts early Friday morning, a 15-year-old Cedar City boy was arrested after he allegedly had stolen a pick-up truck and three cars and committed a burglary of a Cedar Knolls home. Officers Anderson, Fisher and Davis of the City police became aware of the crime spree when Charles Amador telephoned the police at 4 a.m. to report that someone had just fled his home after breaking in. The young man who apparently had been frightened by Amador, allegedly went to a nearby home and drove away in a car parked there. Within minutes officers arrested the boy at the Cedar City High School. They later learned that before allegedly committing the burglary and taking the car, he reportedly had already taken three other vehicles from residences in Cedar City and in the valley. Officers determined that around 1 a.m. the boy had left his home allegedly stealing a nearby car, driving it until he collided with a parked car, causing over $2,600 in .damages. He then reportedly drove off in another car to Rountree Drive, where a pick-up truck was taken and allegedly driven to the Amador residence at 4 a.m. After being arrested, the young man was taken to the county juvenile detention center and referred to juvenile court. In an unrelated incident, in-cident, an Illinois couple was arrested by Officer Terry Petersen early Sunday morning when they were found sleeping near the north interchange in-terchange in a car reportedly stolen from Maywood, 111.
