Show Pro MX group issues response Spokesmen for the Utah-Nevada Citizens for MX released their comments recently on the statement on MX released by the First Prsideney pf the IDS Church. Their statement is , Mow: : i "The statement released recently by the LDS Church; does not in any way take a firm position against the MX missile . system. What they have done is to take a religious p'oint of view on nuclear proliferation, and war itself. "This is the same : position everV major church in the world has taken. They have based their statement mainly on the moral issues involved in-volved in aggression .against mankind in any manner. "Their statement on enormous waste of land and the degrading factors of the social and economical well being of the'people of Utah, is merely skepticism. This project will not be a loom bust situation as we have witnessed in the energy producing areas of Wyoming and other Western states. Given adequate time lor proper planning we can have economical growth that will benefit all the citizens of the states of Utah and Nevada. :"Wt are not war mongers, and we are not money hungry opportunists. op-portunists. Until we are convinced that the Soviet Union will never be a threat to the peace and security of not only the USA but to all of the free countries in the world, we must maintain a stronger defense capacity than they have, We believe in peace, but not at the expense of losing our freedom." |
