Show State gets $12 million from BUI A check for $12,652,847 has been sent to the Utah Treasurer by the Bureau of Land Management as the State's share of mineral and grazing revenues generated on Federal lands in the State. Roland Roblson, BLM Utah state director, said the payment pay-ment was from revenues col lected during the last half of fiscal year 1981, April 1 through Septem bar 30. He added that BLM made a payment pay-ment in May of $9,029,395 to the State, bringing the total to-tal for FY 81 to more than $21 12 million. The present payment Included In-cluded $12,359,803 from mineral revenues and $293, 044 from grazing fees and the sale of land and materials. mater-ials. Roblson said that nationally, nation-ally, BLM has distributed more than $215 million to 23 states for the last half of FY 81. With the exception of A-laska, A-laska, each State receives semiannual payments of 50 percent of bonuses, rentals and royalties collected from' mineral leasing activities on federally owned public lands within the state. Alaska receives re-ceives 90 percent of the mineral leasing receipts. The funds are used for any public purpose the States, choose, giving priority to localities adversely affected by mineral production on Federal lands. States with public range -lands received from 12 12 to 50 percent of the revenue created by the sale of forage to livestock operators, and 4 percent of the revenue derived from the sales of public lands. |
