BY MEL OSBORN Beaver High School waited wait-ed for nearly three quarters before it took a commanding command-ing lead to knock off North Sevier, 66-50, capturing third place In Division I of Region 12. THe Beavers had a rough time getting it together.but when they did, the Wolves couldn't recover from the quick offensive burst from Jess Cox and Burt Myers. Beaver trailed 8-0, with 3:00 left in the first quarter quar-ter before Cox, Craig Blackner, Black-ner, Pyers, and David Eyre could find the nets. Rhett Roberts paced the Wolves in the first quarter quar-ter with 6 points, giving North Sevier a 14-11 first quarter lead. Eyre, Cox, Myers andNeil Marshall came back to give the Beavers a slim 42-23 half time lead. The third period was half over finding the Beavers still frustrated with turnovers and missed shots. Finally, Robbie Eyre came off the bench late in the third period to give Beaver the lead, with a quick bucket. With 3:00 left, Beaver maintained maintain-ed a one point margin, 32-31. 32-31. Cox hit two more for a 34-31 lead. At that point Cox and Myers scored 4 consecutive times while Trent Hallows hit two free throws for the only scoring for North Sevier in the final three minutes , of the third quarter. Myers hit a 25 footer at the buzzer, giving the Beavers a 42-33 lead after three quarters. Cox opened the scoring in the fourth quarter to make It an eleven point spread for Beaver. Rhet Roberts came back for North Sevier with two foul shots cutting the lead to nine for Beaver. Brian Morgan and Neil Marshall both canned two free throws extending Beaver's Beav-er's lead to 59-45 with approximately ap-proximately 4:00 remaining in the game.
