Show SoiirgI VtGS to eel snide en imsitoy After considerable discussion dis-cussion and delay Monday evening, the Milford City Council agreed to have the attorney revise the present ordinance to allow the sale of takeout beer on Sunday. The Council spent considerable con-siderable time perusing the old ordinance to see just how to revise it to allow the sale of beer on Sunday Sun-day for off premise consumption, con-sumption, but finally decided de-cided to convey their intent to the city attorney and let him write the amended ordinance. or-dinance. Motion was made by Councilman Larsen and seconded by Hanley. All voted in favor. Councilman Pettey was absent, but had sent a request re-quest via Councilman Swain to table the matter until the next meeting, but Council felt there was no reason to put the matter off any longer, long-er, since few objections had been raised. Larsen said the change could be con-sideren con-sideren an energy conservation conser-vation measure, since Sunday Sun-day beer sales are allowed elsewhere in the county, and it would save those who want -ed a beer from driving to other communities to get it. The intent of Council would permit the sale of beer on Sunday, but to not allow consumption con-sumption on the premises where sold. In other action, the Council Coun-cil approved Leo Nelson's proposal for watering and mowing hours at the golf course, upon acceptance by Councilman Pettey, parks chairman. They also allowed Nelson some gas, up to 25 gallons per month, for using his own vehicle to maintain the course. Five applicants to run the club house were read. After Af-ter deliberation, John Eas-ton Eas-ton was selected for the job. He will receive half of the green fees and all profits from whatever he sells in the concession. The concession will be operated v as a private business, but he will collect the green fees for the city. Other applicants were Steve Wilson, Darin Mal-chus, Mal-chus, both students, Mr. Salon and Mr. Bensemon, both retirees, who proposed pro-posed to move to Milford. Pettey had recommended Easton because the students would not be able to sell beer, Mr. Bensemon could not take over until June, and Mr. Salon had not answered the city's letter to pursue his interest. The Mayor reported that the County had agreed to participate in the operation of the City Dump with $600. The Recorder said that revenues had been underestimated under-estimated by approximately $48,000., and the city will have a surplus for the next budget. She passed out budget bud-get information to department depart-ment heads, for their input, and the budget was discussed slightly.
