Show TROLLEY SQUARE WINS AWARD FOR I NOVATION The conversion of Salt Lake City's historic trolley carbarns into a viable re-tail.facillty re-tail.facillty has earned Trolley Trol-ley Square, Salt Lake City, an international award for Innovative development techniques. The award, presented by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is one of seven recognizingoutstand-ing recognizingoutstand-ing shopping center achievements. achieve-ments. Richard G. Robins, state director1 for the ICSC, accepted the award for Trolley Trol-ley Square Associates at the ICSC's annual convention in Atlanta recently. More than 3,000 shopping center developers devel-opers and business professionals pro-fessionals were "present at the ceremonies. ICSC is the trade association of the shopping center industry. In the opinion of the judges, the entire Trolley Square project of developing a unique un-ique shopping complex within a collection of turn of the centruy carbarns represented represent-ed an Innovative and creative crea-tive approach that deserved industry recognition. The success of the Trolley Square project will be used to develop material to instruct in-struct other members of the ICSC. Trolley Square presently contains 115 shops, restaurants restaur-ants and businesses and has been recognized nationally by leading publications as an outstanding exam pie of adaptive adap-tive use architecture. |
