Show Gouornor to offend county range four Governor Scott M. Mathe-son, Mathe-son, Agriculture Commissioner Commis-sioner Kenneth B.Creer, and several leaders of agricultural agricul-tural organizations will be attending the Beaver County range tour on June 5, 1978. This annual tour is sponsored spon-sored this year by the Beaver County Cattlemen, U.S.U. Extension Service, and the area Soil Conservation Des-trict. Des-trict. Rangeland improvements improve-ments in the Indian Peak area west of Milford will be toured tour-ed by the group. The tour will officially get underway at 8:15 a.m. at the Beaver County Courthouse. Court-house. The Governor's group will join the tour at Milford at 9:00. Included in the day's agenda will be visits to private, pri-vate, state, and federal range lands which have been developed. devel-oped. Private and state lands have been improved by use of the Utah Rangeland Development De-velopment Fund, administered adminis-tered by the State Department Depart-ment of Agriculture. This fund is available for range - land development at no interest in-terest charge. The federal land has been improved under direction of the BLM. Plans are being finalized for the annual tour according to Ralph Pearson and Florence Flor-ence Wood, Presidents of these organizations. First stop on the tour will be on the Wood and Eyre winter range in Pine Valley The tour will then proceed to see newly planted grass and areas in the process of being cleared and areas that were seeded in 1958 and see cattle cat-tle grazing some of these areas. Two or three stops will be made as time permits. per-mits. A barbequed beef dinner will be served at Cottonwood under the direction of the Cowbells. A demonstration on chaining chain-ing trees will be conducted during the lunch stop. All interested are invited to attend.
