Show Candidates deadline file near A few more candidates had filed for county offices by Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 10th was expected to be busy as candidates rushed to meet the filing deadline. Sheriff Dale Nelson, filed to oppose Joe Duffy and Raymond Ray-mond Goodwin in the county Democratic Convention. No Republican had filed Tuesday. Tues-day. Larry Bailey, Minersville Republican, filed for the four year commission seat against incumbent chairman Howard Pryor, a Democrat. Richard Jefferson, filed for the 2-year commissioner commission-er and will meet Scott Pearson Pear-son in the primary. No Democrats had filed. Incumbent Max Limb, Republican Re-publican filed for assessor and is unopposed as of Tuesday, Tues-day, as were incumbents Nicholas R.Dotson, Republican, Republi-can, for County clerk-auditor; clerk-auditor; Rondo Farrer, Democrat, county treasurer; and John O. Christiansen, Democrat, county attorney, and Bruce Brown, County recorder. Filing dealine was Wednesday, Wed-nesday, May 10th, at 5:00 p.m. If the last eight hours didn't produce some competition, compe-tition, the general election will have only two non-partisan races and a race for the 4 -year commissioner. |
