Show feedback Dear Mr. Wilson: Enclosed find check for a years subscription for myself my-self and Mrs. Horace Carter Car-ter of Minersville. We enjoy en-joy reading the home town newspaper even though we never read much about our family since Daisy left. Mother has been gone much of the winter but she is home now and maybe Wilma would call her occasionaly and report re-port of her activities. She has alot of out of town visitors visi-tors and for us that live away, it's good to know who and when. Sincerely, Mrs. Donald E. Long good'work. I like "Under i the Lemon Tree" acticles i and think your reporters are really working. j I wish to thank you per. I' sonally for the affection and help you extended to my brother, Dan and his wife i Jackie. They were so fond ! of you and I am so glad that you are an Odd Fellow and could travel withDan to many of the meetings. Thank you for all the kind deeds and the kind words of love and i friendship in your paper. ! If you have not been elect. 1 ed for a "Beautiful Person" ' accolade I herewith submit i the name of Red Wilson be- I cause you are beautiful and ! it shows in all your news editions. I am happy to see the names of so many people peo-ple that I know that have been chosen "Beautiful Person", ! but I haven't seen the name ' of Dora Pool and to me she ; is truly beautiful, always ! willing to help with any project, pro-ject, always willing to assist as a pianist. She was so wonderful to "Grandma" Cottrell when she was ill and to me when my mother was ill. I have never known her to say, "no", to anyone in need. Always there Is her deep abiding faith in the love ' of God. To me she is the most beautiful person in Milford. Please keep sending my 'Letter from Home'. Gladys Zelms Dear Editor Wilson, Since August 27th, date of check, I have had good intentions in-tentions to write you a letter let-ter to accompany my renewal renew-al subscription for the Beaver Bea-ver County News. Now that the deadline is due for renewal re-newal I am forced to write or forego the pleasure of receiving the Beaver County News, a pleasure that I can not afford to miss, as I look forward to each issue. As a subscriber since the thirties, thir-ties, I can truthfully say it is the best paper ever since you took over the reins. Your love and concern for the entire county and adjoining adjoin-ing counties, for their welfare wel-fare as well as the welfare of the inhabitants, shines through like a light house beam, even when you are admonishing ad-monishing and begging for . more community involvement involve-ment of the citizens. I was happy to read in a recent issue that your efforts ef-forts had not gone unnoticed and your paper received national na-tional notice and award. Good work. Your layouts and pictures pic-tures are great and so is the reporting. Iam especially especial-ly interested in your ceaseless cease-less campaign to better the scholastic achievements. Please keep publishing the pictures and names of the honor students and recognition recogni-tion of all excelling scholastic scholas-tic achievements. Your sports coverage is excellent and the participation participa-tion in sports is a valuable part of character formation but so is mental participation and the joy of reading and learning will last long after the years of high school and college participation is ended in sports. From a class of thirty-five thirty-five in Junior High at Milford Mil-ford when I attended school, only seven graduated from High School and three went on to two or more years of college. I am happy that number has increased throughout the entire county. I look forward to a visit with Milford each time the paper arrives, Monday or Tuesday. . I turn first to the "Beautiful Person" nomination, nomina-tion, then your column and the news from your reporters report-ers then finally all the news. It is like greeting old friends. I even know many of the people from Adams-ville, Adams-ville, Greenville, Minersville, Miners-ville, Milford Flats, Garrison Garri-son and Beaver. I rejoice in the good news, visits home, births of children and grandchildren, cry with the bereaved, rejoice in the triumphs tri-umphs of a long life well lived, and all the triumphs of Milford. I have great admiration for those that volunteer long hours of skill and labor for the improvement improve-ment of their cities and towns. You have achieved great things. Please keep up the |
