Many fans felt the great comeback by the Beavers In the contest at Parowan would give the kids in blue and white the phychological advantage for a mild upset. However, that didn't 'phyc' the taller tall-er and quicker Rams. 6 foot 5 inch Senior, Brad Fife took an early command for the Ram offense, grabbing grab-bing ten points the first quar -ter. His teammates canned twelve more and the Rams enjoyed a 22 -10 lead after the first eight minutes. Beaver's Mike Smith canned can-ned the first four shots he took from the field, but the remainder of the Beaver offense of-fense failed to find the hoop. Daniel Robinson finally found the range for the Bea ver five and with Brad Fife on the bench with three fouls, the Beavers made a bid to capture the lead. When intermission time arrived the Beavers were trailing, 31-37. The third quarter was a repeat of the last game between be-tween the two schools and the Rams quickly foiled the Beaver Bea-ver momentum and outscor-ed outscor-ed the Beavers, 16-8, and owned the scoreboard, 53-39. Brad Fife and Mike Robinson Rob-inson kept the flame burning for the Rams while Daniel Robinson and Chad Dalton picked up thirteen for the Beavers. Robinson finished with 22 points. The Rams digested the final quarter with a 68-57 win, leaving the Beavers with only one win to their credit. Saturday night, however, the Beavers captured their second win in league play, on the Enterprise Wolves home hardwood. At one point in the third period Beaver enjoyed a 31 point lead, but suddenly the roof fell in. Blackner and Robinson both fouled out, but not before they had 43 points between the two of them . Enterprise found the nets with every manuver and from every angle, With two minutes min-utes remainingthe score was tied. Mike Fuller came off the bench earlier to replace Shane Blackner and his last second field goal from the key gave the Beavers the four point win, 80-76. The Beavers host Kanab Friday night in what could be a super ball game. The young Beavers are comingon and could definitely be a spoiler before It's all over. |
