Show Beaver stake confab has overflow sessions President James B. Morgan Mor-gan expressed his appreciation apprecia-tion for the opportunity of having Elder Hinckley at the conference and for the great messages that he had given Elder Gordon B. Hinckley of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints presided over and spoke at all sessions of the Beaver Utah Stake Conference January 28 and 29, 1978. The largest recorded attendance atten-dance at a Stake Conference were present at all meetings. Sixteen hundred and twenty members of the church and friends were counted at the Sunday morning session. The Saturday evening session ses-sion for all adults of the stake was conducted by President James B. Morgan. President Presi-dent Nielson introduced the theme of the meeting: "Activation "Ac-tivation Challenges We Face." President Van Tassell, in his talk stated that the purpose pur-pose of the gospel is "to meke good people better". We need to be enthusiastic about being our brother's keeper. Elder Hinckley speaking to the congregation stated that it becomes a tremendous responsibility re-sponsibility to the Stake, wards and every member to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into the lives of people. peo-ple. He said that the activity and growth in the church is the greatest it has ever been. A special musical number was given by a men's quartet quar-tet composed of: Clifford Bradshaw, Blake Maksen, Gary Sullivan and Bert Ja-cobson. Ja-cobson. Prayers were given by Bishops Earl Limb and LaVal Bradshaw. The youth of the stake were given the special privilege of listening to Elder Hinckley at 8:00 a.ro. Sunday. Kelly Bradshaw, recently returned missionary and Stake Young Adult Leader, conducted the meeting. The music was conducted by Kari White accompanied ac-companied byAnitaFirmage. Prayers were given by Blair Osborn and Michael Henrie. Sustained to be ordained Elders were: Fred B. Harris, Har-ris, Randy J. Hiatt, C. Dennis Den-nis Humphrey, Sr., Thomas Glen Beard, Dale Craw, Vernon Ver-non L. Moss and Douglas Farns worth. To be ordained ordain-ed a Seventy, Eldwin Sagers. To be ordained a High Priest: John R.Hardy,MaxMecham, and Henry Willisen. Elder Hinckley announced the call of President Wallace D. Yardley to be a patriarch patri-arch to assist Patriarch C. Edwin Paice. Three returned missionaries, mission-aries, Elder Blair Osborne, Kelley Bradshaw and Garland Gar-land Tait spoke briefly and bore their testamonies.
