Show ASCSjffcr emergency food help Livestock producers in ' Beaver County who have suffered suf-fered a substantial loss of feed production because of a natural disaster may be eligible eli-gible to participate In the . emergency feed program, L James B. Morgan, Chairman Chair-man of the Beaver County , Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation (ASC) committee, reported. "Farmers showing a substantial sub-stantial loss of feed during June 1, 1977 through May 31, 1978 are eligible to be considered for the program," pro-gram," Mr. Morgan said. He explained that feed purchases made during this period may be eligible for cost -share assistance even though the farmer may not have filed an application. Farmer eligibility eligi-bility will be determined by the county ASC committee. Operating on an Individual farm basis, the new livestock live-stock feed program can provide pro-vide assistance when only a few farms in the county have been affected by a natural disaster. Prior emergency desldnatlon of the county from Washington is no longer long-er necessary. "This should result in better service to farmers since decisions will be made at the county level," Mr. Morgan said. Previously, Previous-ly, ASCS administered a similar sim-ilar program, but received directions through the Federal Fed-eral Disaster Assistance Administration. Ad-ministration. Requests for livestock feed assistance should be made at the Beaver County ASCS Office. All applicants will be given equal consideration consider-ation without regard to race, color, sex, or national origin. |
