Show Mors' leaving Ma Cell After more than 38 years of unbroken service with Mountain Bell, Mr. Gerald E. Vickers, Beaver Manager, is retiring, the company an- nounced. Starting as a Groundman in 1939 in Salt Lake City, Mr. Vickers has served in several sev-eral capacities for the company com-pany in Utah and Arizona. Following his assignment as a Groundman he was promoted promot-ed to a Lineman in 1940. In 1945 he was promoted to a Station Repairman; 1946 he became a Combination-man Combination-man at Beaver; 1951 an Acting Act-ing Manager at Provo, Utah. In 1952 he was appointed Manager at Panguitch, Utah and in 1953 he was appointed appoint-ed Manager at Beaver, Utah. On November 22, 1977 a group of co-workers and friends honored Gerald at a luncheon. He was presented with a 3 8 -year service emblem and a gift commemorating his long service with Mountain Bell. Following his retirement Gerald will travel and enjoy en-joy his many hobbies. He plans to continue to make his home in Beaver, Utah where he resides with his wife. |
