Show Talont ooarch begins for County Fair Have you got a little talent at a lot of things, or a lot of talent at one thing? Then you're the one for which Arlene Malchus is looking for, to highlight the Beaver County Fair talent show. The show is planned for Friday night, August 12th, in the M inersville church. Mrs. Malchus told the C OUNTY NEWS that she was already tracking down fresh talent for the show. Anyone who would like to be in the show should contact her at 387-2712. It doesn't matter if you've previously been on stage, or if it's your very first effort, the County Fair wants the very best talent in the county to highlight the show. It is hoped that persons from throughout the county will participate. Queen Kim Brox and her attendants, Julie Ann Hutch -ings and Carol Albrecht, will reign over the Fair and be in troduced at the talent show. Fair officials are planning the biggest and best Fair ever, with the first day, Thursday, Aug. 11th, being entry day and judging. That evening things will really get underway with a big beef barbeque, by the Min-ersville Min-ersville Ward, with Bill Wood as chef. A barbershop quartet contest will be held after the barbeque, and the display areas and exhibits will be open to the public until after the barbershop contest. Local harmonizers are urged to get in shape for the competition, as the winner will be invited to compete at the state fair. The exhibits will be open all day Friday, until after the talent show. Take plenty oftimetolookover the handiwork handi-work and green thumb efforts ef-forts of your county friends and neighbors. Saturday is kids day, but Mom and Pop are welcome to watch the fun. Exhibits will be open all day, but there will be lots of prizes and surprises. There will be a pet parade and miniature pet livestock show, and more surprises. The COUNTY NEWS will purchase an ice cream cone for every kid that enters no matter what their age. Of course, there will be all the usual attractions; fine art, arts and crafts, antiques, home arts, garden and pro -duce, and flower show.
