With News Of Friends, Neighbors and Relatives. Are You Planning To Move? Remember the three cent stamp? Remember the Pony Express? Those good old days are gone forever, or at least until the UJS. Postal Service is turned over to private enterprise. ' Meanwhile, you will have to add ten cents to make thirteen in order to get a first class letter across Beaver County in one to four days, depending depend-ing on how long it is lost in the sectional center in Provo. But raising first class rates is only the beginning. be-ginning. Second class rates have soared and likely the COUNTY NEWS will have to raise subscription rates in the near future. Third and fourth class ' rates are atrocious. But what the COUNTY NEWS is concerned with at the moment are changes of address forour subscribers. sub-scribers. Not only do we want to make sure that you don't miss a single issue of the COUNTY NEWS, but those changes are getting durned ex-pensive. ex-pensive. When we started In this business, if you failed to send in a change of address, or didn't agree to pay postage to your new address, the Post Office would send your address label to us, at a cost of two cents. Just recently (up to July 1), the cost was still just 13?. Since July 1, the Post Office has charged 25? each. Multiply this by three to four issues before we recieve word that you're not getting your paper and the cost becomes astronomical. Not only do you miss the issues of the COUNTY NEWS during this period, but It's darned expensive at ! this end. Even those change of address cards you can get free at the Post Office are expensive. You can mail them for nine cents - if you put the stamp on. But if they dont have a stamp when we get , them, they cost 25?. So, PLEASE, send us your change of address as soon as possible. Preferably the change should be sent at least six weeks before you move, telling us the date you wish to start receiving mail at the new address. If we receive your label from the Post Office ' without a new address, your paper will be stopped until a correct address Is received. The COUNTY NEWS will appreciate your : cooperation.
