Show Hon'o Chevy 17ins by Mel Osborn Ron's Chevy coached by Jim Bohn of Beaver, led his little ladies to their 3rd straight Southern Utah Tour nament victory at Cedar City last week. The girls culminat-, culminat-, ed a great undefeated season last Thursday in Cedar City by defeating Minersville, 6-3, for the championship. The girls league consists of twelve teams throughout the Southern Utah area; 3 from Beaver, 6 from Cedar City and others from Milford, Panguitch Pan-guitch and Minersville. Beaver won the league play with an 11-0 record followed by Minersville Min-ersville and Snowdance. Following the championship game individual and team trophies tro-phies were presented to the league and tournament winners. win-ners. The league sportsmanship sportsman-ship trophy was presented to First Security Bank of Cedar C ity and The Round -Up of Beaver received the tournament tour-nament sportsmanship award. Girls Softball is definitely causing excitement in the Southern Utah area. Sandy Houghten of Cedar City staged a well organized, stimulating stimulat-ing tournament this year. |
