Tango was chewed up by a neighboring dog and taken to Dr. Zohni in Beaver. He sewed him up and the dog was brought home. Making no progress, the Marshalls returned him to the vet, who diagnosed that maggots had hatched in the wound. He opened the wound and cleaned it. Closing the wound required stitches completely around the dog's midsection. mid-section. Still the dog did not respond. The Marshall asked that he be put to sleep. Dr. Zohni, on his own initiative, called a friend in Chicago who specialized in small animals. He sent toxin to treat the dog for maggots on the brain, which Dr. Zohni diagnosed was the problem. The dog responded, and a week later Dr. Zohni called the Marshalls with the news that Tango was alive and doing well. He's home now and the look in Chris' eyes tells the happy ending. |
