Show sworn at so much. Arvilla and Austin Williams Wil-liams drove to Milford the other week, as Austin had a doctor appointment and he Is doing good. Now is a fine time to find out, 3 weeks later, but Larry Caulderwood, Kay's nice husband, was in the Ely hospital hos-pital to have his appendix removed. No foot races for awhile yet, but he feels real good. Scott Carpenter and his lovely new wife have moved into our valley. Nice to have another young couple out here. There was a big meeting at Fred and Betty Baker's the other day, about putting in a new TV relay tower. Hope they can get it up soon, so we can watch other channels. chan-nels. Billie Osborne stopped by the other day and it was a beautiful, sunny 60 warm day. She said it made her feel like going up home and starting her flower beds. That night it was 11 as a low. Better wait just a while longer. Bud and Gen Richardson took grandson Buddy into Salt Lake for his dental appointment ap-pointment and did some visiting vis-iting around. Returned late Sunday PM. LaRue and Cecil Rowley drove to Nephl for his doctor doc-tor appointment, and then stayed one night with son Walter and family. Our son-in-law, Larry Hardwick, and his partner, Mel Shields, brought out their boys to do a little target tar-get shooting. They came through Ely, so left a few nickles there. The fellows have to get away from Salt Lake for a few hours. They are on the police force and are really busy. KDLT - how come the "queens" only come from the close area around there? We have mothers out here, too. My doctor is trying to find a medical term which means "burnt the candle at both ends" to describe my problems. prob-lems. Remember - it is a mistake mis-take to try to understand your enemies or even your friends, just try to love them more. (Left out last week) Wow! What a snow storm and thunder storm Fred and I got into last Wednesday. We were on our way to Ely for Lions meeting and wow! Couldn't see and then all that thunder and no beans. Bud and Gen Richardson came back from the weekend in Salt Lake and on the 13th their daughter, Margaret Renae, takes over as the first known bus service, female fe-male supervisor for U.T.A. in Salt Lake. They also had good news that Vera Dearden was home from the hospital, where she spent a day or so on a checkup. check-up. Vivian took care of the home fire for her. She is feeling good. Friday night at Lehman Cave Center, there was a potluck, going-away party for Gene and Patty Weller. Gene is with the Nevada Fish and Game at the fish hatchery hatch-ery and now they are transferring trans-ferring to Winemmuca, Nev. We of the valley will miss them, but the other Gold Dust Twin, Clark Talbert, will really miss him. One of the reasons Gene is going is he doesn't want to paint the blades on our windcharger. Pat and Ladd Davies paid a visit Sunday night to Carl and Aleeda Dearden's place. Talked of lots of things and then Monday AM, bright and early, Pat and Aleeda took the high school girls back to Delta. They'll probably do some money spending while there. Arvilla Williams left early too, for Delta, as those darn car taxes are due. On Saturday, there was a baby shower at the "Y" for Judy Girard. She is the daughter of Dan and Gerl Roblson of Baker. There were lots of useful gifts and lots of food. Becky Dilworth left right after school on Friday, as she had a big date in Provo over the weekend. Fred and I drove up to visit vis-it Bill and Margaret Bozarth and with it being real slick, Fred almost moved the gate a few feet up the road, but just in time he stopped. They are living up by the cave and they sure have a lovely view of Snake Valley; clear across. They can see from here to there and back again. With all the church fund-raising fund-raising going on, the old furnace fur-nace over in Baker Hall isn't doing a job, so now church and primary are being held here in Garrison at the Relief Re-lief Society Hall. Don't know what Lorene and Chester Wheeler are doing, do-ing, but whatever, it is keeping keep-ing them busy. Our road crew, Austin Williams, Hubert Davis and Cecil Rowley, have had a real workout on the snow plows. We have snow in the valley. There are two things that are bad for the heart; running run-ning up stairs and running down people. Today, tell somebody that you love them!! Howdy - My heavens, time does fly. The other week Bud Richardson, Rich-ardson, our fine Deputy Sheriff, went to Fillmore to be sworn In, cause he is |
