Show 8th Grade Takes Richfield Measure As Freshmen Lose The Milford 8th grade took on a top team from Richfield, but unloaded with a 26 -point 3rd quarter spurt to win 57-34. 57-34. Ken Jones had 21 and Dennis Myers 16 to lead the attack, as Richfield had only one player, Cowley 13, in double figures. Milford led 6-4, 17-15, 43-20 43-20 and 57-34. The Frosh had a tougher time of it as Richfield liked Mllford's new gymn, and gradually pulled out a win, but never put it really out qf jeachjvi th a 52 -49 score. It was tied at the 1st quarter, quar-ter, 10-10, 22-20 with Milford Mil-ford leading at the half. Richfield Rich-field took control In the third quarter, outscorlng Milford 16-9 to make it 36-31. Milford Mil-ford gained in the final stanza, stan-za, but it was not enough as the Wildcats hung on. Young from Richfield was high with 21 points and Christensen had 17 for the winners. Brad Kirk and John Horlacher each had 14 to lead the Milford squad, as Gary Mayer dunked 13. Thursday (today) Beaver will be in Milford at 3:30 p.m., and remember Little League games every Saturday Satur-day morning. |
