Mr. and Mrs. John Holms of Salt Lake City were here visiting at the home of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Del Newdigate. er and Mrs. Delia Alllnson (Altheda's sister) of Eureka were visitors at the home of Altheda Gale last Sunday. At home forChristmasand the holidays, visiting their father, Jake Schow in Milford, Mil-ford, and mother and brothers bro-thers and families in Cedar City, were Elaine Schow from San Francisco, Calif, and her brother, SpE4 Alan G. Schow, who was recently discharged from the Army after serving three years. They enjoyed visiting friends in Milford and Cedar City, and Elaine spent time skiing at Brian Head. Boyd and Alan took her to Las Vegas to fly back to her home and job in San Francisco where she is an RN. Alan is here at home and looking for work and just getting used to civilian civi-lian life again. Bill Schow is at sea again. This year was his fourth Christmas spent at sea. He hopes all are well and happy and hopes to get home some -time this year. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Briscoe spent a week in Winchester, Calif, with their daughter, Jean and Marshall Auzenne and daughter Denise. They also visited their grandson, Rick and Sally Shields and son, and granddaughter, Linda Lin-da and Eric Neufeldt, at Mr. and Mrs. Ray L. Bel-liston Bel-liston had their son, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Belliston and family of San Ramon, Calif., home over the weekend. They were here for her brother's (Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Edwards) wedding reception. Mr. and Mrs. Don Gale and family of Bountiful were here to visit his mother, Altheda Gale, last weekend. Altheda Gale spent the Christmas and New Year holidays at the home of her son, Don Gale and family, in Bountiful. Mrs. Altheda Gale reports the birth of a new great-granddaughter great-granddaughter born December Decem-ber 15 to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Mi-chael Olson of Payson.Utah. The new little miss has been named Marilee and she joins a brother, Douglas, at home. Mrs. Beth Puffer of Beav- He met, Calif. Visitors of Mrs. Naomi Hlghes during the past week were her son, Mr. and Mrs. Nolan Hughes and children Robert and Karen of Colorado Colo-rado Springs. They will take Robert to the LDS Mission Home Saturday to prepare for the Chicago Spanish mission. mis-sion. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams Wil-liams and Jennie of Cedar City were visitors at the home of T. I. Williams on Sunday and visited with T. I. in the hospital. Mr. Randall Banks, Min-ersvllle, Min-ersvllle, had Sunday dinner with his daughter, Mrs. T. I. Williams. Pearl Potter and her four children spent the Christmas and New Year holidays in Salt Lake City with her his-band, his-band, Gary, who has been working there. The family did some visiting with relatives rela-tives and friends in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Linden Frandsen of Leeds, Utah were here visiting their daughter and family, Pearl Potter, on Monday, Jan. 6. Clint and Jane Myers to Cedar City on Monday, Jan. 6, on business, then on to St. George to visit their nephew, Johnny Myers, who is recovering from an illness. ill-ness. The Myers also stopped in Hurricane to see Clint's brother, Angus Myers. Clint Myers' daughter, Yvonne Greenwood of Beaver, Beav-er, underwent surgery Tuesday Tues-day morning. They drove over to visit and help out. Marie Florence and daughter Lisa were in Cedar City recently to the eye clinic. clin-ic. Leland Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson, Thomp-son, had surgery recently in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Don and Nancy Horlacher, stationed at Cherry Point, North Carolina in the U. S. Marines, phoned his father, David R Horlacher (MHS Principal) on Saturday, Jan. 4, to let his parents and family fam-ily know that he was taking a couple of short trips; a one -week flying display to Madrid, Spain, and a month's stay at Yuma, Arizona in Feb. Their son, Rickie Lee, (the Horlacher's grandson) will be 2 years old March 1. Ann Marie Gay and son Steven left Wednesday morning morn-ing for Salt Lake City where Steven underwent orthopedic surgery at the Primary Childrens Hospital. They will be gone about a week. Marion Banks and daugh- ry's, Wells Nielson. While there they met and visited with many old friends and relatives. They also stopped and visited in Oak City with Mrs. Roper's sister, and also with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clar-ence Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rod-gers Rod-gers were in Yermo, Calif, visiting their daughter and family, Dennis and Donna Gubler, through the recent holidays. They also stopped to see their daughter, Weno-na Weno-na Rodgers, and their son, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Rodgers and family, all of Las Vegas, taking Wenona with them to Yermo, where Christmas was spent. On their return trip, Willis and Afton stopped in Henderson, Nev. to see her brother, Perry and Betty Gillins. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Gillins Gil-lins and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rodger were in Cedar City recently on business and to do some shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Les Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Roberts recently drove their son, Chuck Birdson, to Las Vegas to board a plane for New Jersey. Sunday afternoon he phoned his parents par-ents to let them know he was fine and busy learning to take pictures from a helicopter. Don and Nancy Hudson and daughter Shelly of Salt Lake City visited at the home of her parents, Bob and Gen-eive Gen-eive Price, last weekend. Lonnie Price was a recent re-cent visitor through the holidays holi-days at the home of her father, fa-ther, Ben E. Price and brother bro-ther Rick. She is a student at the UofU. Mrs. Theresa Pitchforth entertained Flossie Ricker-son Ricker-son on her birthday, Jan. 11. Mrs. Bertha Cottrell was there and Vickie Fothering-ham Fothering-ham stopped in for a short visit. Dean Payne celebrated his birthday on Jan. 8 with his wife and family. Recently returning home from Cedar City is Linda Paice, who was a patient at the Cedar City Hospital. Kenneth Patterson was in Salt Lake City last Friday on business. Leo and Christine Finch celebrated their first wedding wed-ding anniversary last Sunday. Sun-day. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ever-sole Ever-sole and daughter Tracey of Las Vegas were holiday guests at the home of their Parents, Fred and Hilda O'-Leary. O'-Leary. One of the sons, Gary Eversole, wrestled in Yuma, Arizona with the Chapparall Las Vegas High Wrestling Team, winning second place. His sister, Kathy, also enjoyed en-joyed watching the match. Kevin Ogden, son of Jack and Gwen Ogden, is recovering recov-ering from a recent ankle operation in Salt Lake City ter Mary Jane drove over over to Parowan with Doris, Deborah, and Gary Horlacher Horlach-er Saturday morning to watch the 8th and 9th grade basketball basket-ball games. Also attending the gameswereMr.andMrs. Kirk, Mrs. Judy Jensen, Mrs. Don Willden and two children. The boys won both games by quite a margin. Tuesday, Jan. 7th, David r Horlacher drove to Beaver where he joined the BHS Principal, and Supt. Lynn Haslem and they all drove to Kanab for Regional 8 Basketball Bas-ketball meetings. Doris Horlacher met her husband for a Genealogical meeting that evening in the 2nd-4th Ward in Beaver and later returned re-turned home. Friday, after school, Mrs. Horlacher hosted a party for her daughter's(Deborah Sue) 12th birthday at their home. Games were played, gifts were opened and then cake and Ice cream and orange lemonade were served. Those attending were Lesile Kennedy, Elaine Long, Kris Sherwood, Robbin Atkin, Laura Bradshaw, Lee Ann Hiatt, Edith Barton, Wendy Whitney, Lisa Nelson, Deborah, Deb-orah, Paul, David, Gary and George Horlacher. Deborah thanks all those who attended and for making her birthday party a lot of fun. Saturday, Jan. 11th, many Milfordites attended the Beaver, Utah Stake Education Educa-tion Day in Beaver. Special speakers, Monte Nyman and Richard Cowan, gave very inspirational talks to the group of approximately fifty people. A lovely donated cafeteria-style lunch was served serv-ed in the early evening to the group. Everyone attending enjoyed it very much. James Lee Banks, nephew of Kay and Marian Banks, is in Minersville visiting at the home of his grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Banks. Zelma Fisher, Hope Miller, Mil-ler, and Marian Banks were in Cedar City on Monday, Jan. 13, on business. Doris Horlacher and two children, Rachel and George, accompanied Marian Banks to Delta on Tuesday afternoon after-noon to attend the Milford 8th and 9th grade basketball games. Mr. and Mrs. James Hol-lingshead Hol-lingshead were in St. George last week to visit relatives, Milton Dally and Mr. and Mrs. La von Thompson. Jim and Carolyn Skillicorn drove to Salt Lake City on Sunday afternoon to return their daughter, Tiffani Skillicorn, Skil-licorn, whom they had home visiting with them for two weeks through the holidays. On their return trip they drove through a very bad snowstorm, taking ten hours to drive the usual four -hour trip. Mr. Sampson of Provowas a Milford visitor last Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Gerreld of Las Vegas, Nev. were recent re-cent visitors in Milford. John Holmes of Salt Lake City stopped in to visit Daisy Rowley at the. Milford Hotel last Sunday afternoon. Here recently to visit was Bill Evans of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roper were pleasantly surprised last week from a visit from his sister, Mary and Wallace Jeffery of Delta, who were returning home from a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., where they had been visiting with their daughter, Carol and David VanWaggner and family. fam-ily.
