Show counts only In horseshoes, but It's the close matches that make wrestling one of the most exciting spectator sports. January 7 against Dixie, Chuck Terry, Roger Hatch, and Scott Symond scored pins, along with eighth grader grad-er Nick Leko. Tom Thompson Thomp-son won a decision. Thursday a strong Beaver squad invaded the Tigers lair and walked off with a 33-18 win. Terry at 119 and Thompson Thomp-son at 138 won decisions.' Kirt Short, 166, had Mil-ford's Mil-ford's only pin. Clark Fillmore Fill-more claimed a forfeit in the unlimited division. Milford was forced to forfeit at 105 and 185. Bradshaw 98, Waters 112, Osborn 126, Bradshaw 132, Jarvis 145, and Bradshaw 167 scored wins for Beaver. Dixie was even tougher the second time around, with only McCulley and Short scoring pins and Scott Symond Sy-mond and Thompson winning decisions. Next Wednesday the Tigers Tig-ers travel to Hurricane again for a match and then will entertain Panguitch on the home mats on Thursday, Jan. 23. Don't let scores fool you into believing local matches are not exciting. Remember, only the winner gets a score; three points for a decision and six for a pin. Close MAT MEN LOSE Milford wrestlers, with two matches with Dixie and one with Beaver already under un-der their belt during the past week, and scheduled to participate par-ticipate in a tournament at Hurricane on Friday and In Beaver on Saturday, have only four more matches before be-fore the tourneys start. |
