There are two wrestling matches scheduled sche-duled for this week - Wednesday Wed-nesday against Hurricane at 2:30 in Beaver and Thursday against Parowan at 7:00 in Beaver. Christmas parties are being be-ing held almost every night. Beaver 3rd Ward Aaronic Priesthood Activity Night had their annual Christmas banquet last Tuesday with 85 in attendance. A fine turkey dinner and all the trimmings were served and each of the classes presented a part on the program, sharing the honors with a visit from Santa Claus. Friday night, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Olpin hosted a dinner for the Beaver Hospital staff and their doctor, Mr. Terry Henrle and his wife. There were 32 present for the festive fes-tive occasion. Also on Friday, Fri-day, the 3rd Ward Primary officers and teachers held their Christmas dinner In the 1st -3rd Ward recreation hall. Saturday the Utah State University extension service sponsored a Christmas home tour. The public was invited to tour the homes of Mrs. Sarah Bakes, Mrs. Laurel Christensen, Mrs. Marie Lee, and Mrs. Sharon Olpin, to view their lovely Christmas Christ-mas decor. At least 60 visitors visit-ors came to share in their ideas and creations. Gift wrap and food ideas were available at the Extension Office at this time. The Beaver Lions Club had a "Calico Christmas" on Saturday evening from 8-12 at the Armory. Patchwork quilts and other old-fashioned decorations helped the 50 attending to get into the spirit of the party. Those on the social so-cial committee were, Elvon and Nada Spencer, Roger and Sharon Olpin, Joe and Gay-tha Gay-tha Benson, Rex and Carol Carter, Floyd and Darlene Bartlett, and Hal and Nell Smith. Dinner was served, dancing and a program followed. fol-lowed. A local Beaver musical musi-cal group featuring Miss Shari Olpin as vocalist, provided pro-vided the music. Mr. and Mrs. lion Claws (Larry and Gaytha Benson) distributed favors and white elephant gifts. Also on Saturday night the 3rd Ward young-marrleds had a Christmas party. Table games were played and dancing danc-ing was enjoyed to music provided by Mr. Gordon Bak er, Mr. Jack Waters, and Mr. Vernon Condle. The Belknap Elementary School will present their annual an-nual Christmas plays on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 18 and 19, at 7:30. This busy season finds us here In Beaver with hardly a moment to rest. The high school's calendar is hopping with special activities. Last Monday, December 9th, the Dixie College Stage Band entertained en-tertained at an assembly for all the classes. The 7th grade class also provided an assembly as-sembly on Thursday, Dec. 12. The advisors for this class, Mrs. Ann Marshall, Mr. Brown, and Mr.AlanRaddon, were responsible for being resource people, and should be pleased with their efforts.
