Show JUDGE DENIES JEFFERSON'S RECOUNT PLEA At a hearing In 5th District Dis-trict Court In Beaver, Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Dec. 11th, Judge J. Harlan Burns rejected Incumbent In-cumbent county commissioner commis-sioner G. R. Jefferson's plea for a recount and ordered counsel for defense to prepare pre-pare documents showing that Stanley Roberts was elected in the Nov. 5th General Election. Elec-tion. The election ended with a seven -vote margin In favor of Mr. Roberts. Commissioner Commis-sioner Jefferson prepared an action for recount on the basis that there was a discrepancy dis-crepancy in the number of votes cast, and that due to the write-in for sheriff, ballots bal-lots were cast out which should have been counted. Only one election Judge under questioning agreed that it was possible that there was a possibility of ballots being rejected, or write-in votes affecting the 4 -year commission race. Judge Burns denied the recount. |
