These two capable com munity directors working with Mr. James Briggs, County Director, are anxious anxi-ous to meet the needs of our communities. We urge your participation to enrich your life. Lynn Haslem 9 Superintendent of Schools O The concept of extended usage of school facilities by the general public beyond that of the regular school day by regular students, is a rather new but long overdue over-due recognition. The Com -munity School Program is an answer to public need, the recognition that schools do In fact belong to the people, peo-ple, a recognition that education edu-cation Is not just an experience ex-perience from kindergarten to twelvth grade, but rather is a "cradle to grave" need, and a recognition that a school should serve the community in more ways than just instructional Improvement. Im-provement. Under the Community School concept the school becomes potentially the community center for all people - varied interests, needs, religions, convictions, convic-tions, ages, and abilities. The program of activity is as flexible as the interest of the participants and the ingenuity of the Director. Its value is imeasurable to those who add meaning to their life through taking advantage ad-vantage of this valuable program. pro-gram.
