OBITUARY SERVICES HELD FOR EMMA MAYER BENEDICT Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Mish Funeral Home at Shafter, California for Emma Mayer Benedict, 83, of Milford, Utah. She died March 18 in a Bakersfield, Calif, hospital. hos-pital. Elder Roy A. Wol-cott Wol-cott of the Shafter Seventh -Day Adventist church officiated. offic-iated. Internment followed in the Shafter Memorial Park. Mrs. Benedict was a native na-tive of North Dakota and had lived in Shafter for 47 years before moving to Mil- ford 4 years ago. She was an active member of the Milford Seventh -Day Adventist Church and in the Dorcas Society of the Church. Survivors include three sons, Leo Mayer, Lloyd Mayer and Eugene Mayer of Milford, Utah; four daughters, daugh-ters, Olivia Petty of Lancaster, Lan-caster, California, Alice Richert of Shafter, Helen Combs of Tehran, Iran, and Dorothy Lauffenburger of Bakersfield, California; a brother Fred Suckut of North Dakota; a sister, Mag-gie Mag-gie Weigand of Shafter; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. All seven children were there including, the daughter daugh-ter and her husband, Helen and Alpha Combs from Iran. Most of the grandchildren also attended.
