The Board considered the petition peti-tion and the feelings of the citizens on changes and then asked tlie Superintendent to retain Sherman W. Carter as Principal for one -half day and be over the District Music Mu-sic Program the other half day. Alledged discrepencies in Beaver High School funds were discussed. Gary E.Sullivan E.Sul-livan moved that the Board call Haynie, Tebbs & Smith, Certified Public Accountant firm to audit tlie Beaver High School books. The motion was seconded by William V. Fir mage and was approved by the Board. The Board instructed the Superintendent to meet with Principal Rowley and discuss dis-cuss his resignation pending the findings of the audit report. re-port. The Superintendent was instructed to appoint an acting act-ing Principal for the period of the audit. When confronted by the Superintendent, Principal Rowley called his staff together to-gether and informed he was resigning. Dr. Wayne Crook, Director of Curriculum, was made acting Principal of BHS last week, but due to other pressing business was called call-ed back to the District office and Coach Al Marshall has been acting in that capacity this week. A special meeting of tlie Beaver County School Board was called last Tuesday evening ev-ening in the district office in an effort to explain to a group of Beaver City citizens, citi-zens, the intent and purposes of the shakeup in tlie district schools. Meeting with the Board were Leola Yardley, Jean-ette Jean-ette Bettridge, NadaSpencer Val Smith, Darrell Yardley, Chad Johnson, Dell Ho llings-head, llings-head, Faye Hollingshead, Donna " Morris, Burton Myers, Dean Brown, Lynn Parsons and Hugh Blackburn. Black-burn. Val- Smith, representing the Belknap faculty, requested request-ed that Sherman W. Carter remain as Principal of tlie Belknap School for one -half day and assume tlie District Director of Music for tlie other half day. Mrs. Leola Yardley, President Pre-sident of the Belknap School PTA, petitioned the board to have Sherman W. Carter remain re-main as Principal of tlie Belknap Bel-knap School. She presented a petition to tlie Board said to contain 500 names.
