Show Moss Gives Support To Roosevelt Spring Geothermal Lease Utah Senator Frank E. (Ted) Moss has written a letter let-ter commending the Department Depart-ment of the Interior for its plan to offer the first competitive com-petitive lease sale for use of geothermal steam in Utah. The Moss letter was in response re-sponse to notification from Paul Howard, State Director of tlie Bureau of Land Management Man-agement that one bid offer is planned for the current fiscal year. Moss said tlie area to be leased is called Roosevelt Springs near Milford, Utah. He said an environmental impact statement must be approved first. One is being prepared now. "The time is here for making use of our geothermal geotherm-al resources," said Moss, "and you have my support in this matter". The Senator told Howard that he will be represented at an April 4th meeting on tlie geothermal leasing program. pro-gram. The meeting is scheduled sche-duled for tlie Bureau of Reclamation Rec-lamation Conference Room (702) in the Federal Building Build-ing from 9 a.m. until noon. Moss was a co -sponsor of the legislation that originally orig-inally opened up land for geothermal geo-thermal leasing. |
