Show Minersville News Notes American Legion Auxiliary was held May 5th at the home of Mrs. Pauline Wood. Officers for the year 1971-72 were installed in-stalled by Mrs. Shirley Hol-lingshead. Those taking offices were; Mrs. Frieda Wood, Pres ident: Mrs. Florence Wood, Vice President; Mrs. Nellie Hollingshead, Sec.-Treas.; Mrs. Ada Edwards, Chaplin and Mrs. Vella Stephenson, Sgt. of Arms. After a business meeting, meet-ing, refreshments were served. American Legion Poppy Poster winners announced today to-day are; Grade 4 Janette Holingshead, 1st; Ricky Williams, Wil-liams, 2nd; Rodney Carter, 3rd; Grade 5 and 6 Colleen Tru man, 1st; Michelle Myers, 2nd; Lesa Eyre, 3rd; Grade 7 and 8 Julie Carter, 1st; Dale Craw, 2nd and David Perkes, 3rd. Mrs. Daisy Gilli.ns was selec- ted 1st Vice President of District Dis-trict 7 at 1he American Legion and Auxiliary District Convention Conven-tion held May 7th at Beaver. Others attending the convention conven-tion were Mrs. Frieda Wood, Mrs. Effie Marshall and Mr. and Mrs. Sherwin Wood. A boy was born May 3rd at the Cedar City hospital to Fay and Betty Marshall. This is their fifth child. Grandmothers Grandmo-thers are Mrs. Effie Marshall and Mrs. Lilly Lambson. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Pitch-forth; Pitch-forth; of Murray spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Goldie Marshall. Sunday another daughter of the Marshall's, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Brinkerhoff and family of Fillnore, joined the group lor dinner. Visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Marsh-all Hollingshead, were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Harding and son of Cedar City, Madalyn and Duke, students at BYU and Neil, a student at SUSC. Mr. and Mrs. Dohn Martin are on a months vacation. They will spend some time with their son Garth and family fam-ily in Washington D. C. and will attend a reunion in Kansas. Kan-sas. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hollingshead Hollings-head had all their children home for Monther's Day, Larry, Lar-ry, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Kay Cummings and Julie, of Cedar City and Bart of Minersville. Min-ersville. Sunday dinner guests at the Howard Pryor home were, Mr. Grant Pryor, Mrs. Almonda Nolder and Mr. and Mrs. Sim Murdock of Cedar City. Visiting at the home of James and Ranee Eyre were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Jean) Edwards and family, fam-ily, Mrs. Janet Oakdea and son, all of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Mitch (Joan) Myers and family, Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Gray, Orem were visiting friends and relatives in town over the weekend. Weekend visitors at the h,ome of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Thompson were his sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Willisen and Mr. and Mr. Paul Pace, Salt Lake and Margie's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bonner and twins of Las Vegas. Mrs. Eileen Craw, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Ann Williams and Mrs. Geniel Dalton visited with Mrs. Sue May Clark in Kanab last week. Mrs. Lola Bonn and Mrs. Gladys Myers attended a funeral fun-eral Friday in Monroe, Utah. Bruce Davis was at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Davis over the weekend. Mrs. Cassie McKnight is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Loretta Cline in Salt Lake and her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jess McKnight in Sandy, Utah.
